I noticed that there is an outstanding issue with Spring 2.5 support , https://jira.terracotta.org/jira/browse/CDV-559.
I'm interested in using the new Spring Integration project (built on Spring 2.5) along with Terracotta. Can you provide an update on when Spring 2.5 support will be available ? Thanks.
Chris

Hi Chris.
Spring 2.5 is definitely something we want to do. At the moment, though, it's not scheduled in any short-term release.
Basically, there is simply so much to do out there that we can't do it all. So we have to build things that make the most sense. To judge "what makes sense" we monitor a couple of things:
1) If people ask about it on the forums, e-mail or blogs.
2) Vote for the JIRA
3) We have a paying customer that needs something
Since we are only one company, and the scope of possibilities in the Java framework world is large, a long-term goal we have is to get the owners of those frameworks to add Terracotta support themselves, if a 3rd party is interested in working with us, we will help them out as much as we can (note our interaction with the Wicket team, Jetty, Scala, etc)
So, to see support for Spring 2.5, you can:
1) Vote on the JIRA - we'll implement it when we see a lot of people needing it
2) Contact sales - I know it sounds cheesy, but if you pay us, that tends to help improve the priority
3) Contact SpringSource on the Spring Forum and push them to support Terracotta
I hope you agree this is a reasonable approach :)

Hi all.
I also want to use Terracotta along with Spring 2.5(2.5.1?).
P.S: I would vote for this ticket in jira, but couldn't sign in. I wrote to support AT terracotta.org but have no response yet. And meanwhile I will attack spring forum. :)

Can we add this to the Spring FAQ? I banged my head against a wall for a while to figure out why my simple sample app didn't work, until I happened on this post. I think a lot of people using Terracotta with Spring will be using the latest stable release (which is 2.5.2), so I imagine it's tripped up a fair number of folks.

I've voted for both issues. Hope that Terracotta supports Spring 2.5.x soon. Spring 2.5.4 is currently used.

Well, the good news is it's scheduled for the end of summer release. Will be in nightlies at some point before then. Maybe in a month. Not sure of the exact date yet.
