EHCache cache replication compatibility  XML

Just curious. Lets say I have ehcache version 1.6.2 on one application and 1.7.2 on another... everything else the same, could those two caches talk to each other over RMI replication?

My [guess, since I haven't actually tried it] would be that you'd run into Serialization Exceptions between those 2 versions.

I'll let Greg chime in with his thoughts for an official answer, but I don't know of any automated testing that verifies such a setup so I'm inclined to say even it works it falls outside a "supported/certified" configuration
